Journey to Wengen

You cannot drive directly to Wengen, as it has no access road. You have to park your vehicle in Lauterbrunnen and take the train to Wengen.

Arriving by car:

You can drive to Lauterbrunnen by car.  

 

• Geneva – Lauterbrunnen approx. 240 km

• Zurich – Lauterbrunnen approx. 200 km

• Basle – Lauterbrunnen approx. 180 km

• Berne – Lauterbrunnen approx. 80 km

 

Lauterbrunnen has about 2,000 parking spaces. The only multi-storey car park is directly at Lauterbrunnen station. In winter we recommend you make a parking reservation plenty of time in advance. Further parking spaces are in the centre of Lauterbrunnen and towards Stechelberg.

You can use the free park-and-ride service to get from these parking spaces to Lauterbrunnen railway station ( Please note, only available in winter high season).

Once there, you take the historical Wengener Alp Bahn (WAB) to Wengen. The journey takes approx. 15 minutes.

 

Arriving by train:

Hardly any other holiday region is so easy to reach by train as the Jungfrau region. In addition to the excellent and prompt train connections, the affordably-priced railway tickets are a further bonus.

International trains (ICEs, ECs, ICs) run to Interlaken. From Interlaken-East, the BOB railway (Berner Oberland Bahn) goes to Lauterbrunnen. From Lauterbrunnen, you take the train operated by the Wengener Alp Bahn (WAB) to Wengen. The journey takes 15 minutes.

Wengen is also easy to reach in approx. 40 minutes from  Interlaken via Lauterbrunnen by taking the Jungfraubahn railway.
